Autoweek is reporting that VW may buy Maserati to get a ready made platform for their Phaeton. Talk about insanity. Having watched Ford almost face bankruptcy the last few years from going on a buying spree and then crumble when its core products were left to rot on the vine, you'd think VW would learn something. They just finished reporting 84.8 million dollars in losses for the first quarter, and the trend shows no signs of stopping. We're still waiting for the new Golf, the new Jetta, and a new Minibus. Instead we get a 12 cylinder super-Passat. Can you imagine anyone buying a 12 cylinder Hyundai? Why would they buy a 12 cylinder volkswagen?
