Grease is the fuel of the future

At least a few crazies think so. Actually it's not that crazy, and it probably works relatively well, minus the inevitable stink of the stuff.

But it brings up an important point. We're running out of gas. Check out this week's (May 29th-June 4th) issue of the Economist. I can't link it through the internet, but there is an important article on world oil production. Those oil fields in Russia and Canada that are going to replace the Middle East? Not going to happen. It's just too expensive to mine that type of oil when oil is so easily drilled for in the Middle East. And world oil production is nearly at its maximum. Outside of Saudi Arabia, all countries are producing the maximum amount possible. And since we're not going to have peace and order in Iraq any time soon, prices are just not going to go down. It looks like we're going to have 2 bucks a gallon for the time being, probably for the rest of our lives. Something to worry about...
